CHARACTER:
Character you're applying for: Pete Black
Brief Canon history on the character: A well-liked guy, Pete had lots of friends in his grade, thanks to his run as class president and his spot on the football team. This popularity didn't help much with the girls, though Pete liked plenty of girls, he never really knew how to act around them. (See: bra-snapping, "hair like gossamer")
One paragraph 1st person journal example of the character:
I hate that my birthday is on a Sunday. I want to get my license the second I turn 16, yet I have to wait a whole day to actually get it. 24 freaking hours. Sure, it'll be an easy day to get through, what with the partying. Bowling in the afternoon, a feast that Mom's making for dinner, then the movies in the evening. And sure, it's not like I'll have a car to drive when I am actually able to. I'm just glad that I'm finally going to be able to do things.
One paragraph 3rd person action snippet of character:
Pete wandered into his kitchen, pausing mid-way through the text he was sending to Robert to sniff the air. His mom was making chili for dinner, sweet! Finishing his text message quickly, he opened the slow-cooker and peered inside, closing his eyes as he inhaled the scent. Grabbing a spoon from the drawer, he took a taste of the chili, chewing thoughtfully. It needed more heat. Grabbing the bottle of hot sauce, he added a couple splashes and stirred before trying another mouthful. "Perfect," he declared.
"What's perfect?" his mother's voice asked from behind him.
Pete jumped, and held the bottle of hot sauce behind his back. "Nothing," he said quickly, giving his mother a charming smile.
Jennifer raised her eyebrow at her son. "Okay," she said, clearly not believing him. "Just stay away from supper. It'll be ready by five."
Pete nodded, grinning a cheesey smile until his mother left the room. Then he quickly returned the hot sauce to it's original spot before ducking out the back door. He knew better than to hang around the scene of a crime.
